Occupational Summary
A Level 3 apprenticeship for an IT technical salesperson involves selling a company’s technical products and services and maintaining a strong knowledge of the portfolio of technologies available, including emerging technologies. Apprentices in roles such as IT technical salesperson, IT Salesman, IT Salesperson, Sales assistant, Sales executive, Sales representative, Sales agent and Sales adviser build and maintain relationships with existing clients to secure repeat business and approach potential customers to win new business, working with both internal and external customers in the UK and internationally.
This programme comprises 32 KSBs (knowledge, skills and behaviours), is typically completed in 12 months and has a maximum funding band of £12,000. End-point assessment is via a portfolio of evidence, an interview and a project report.

The primary role of an IT Technical Salesperson is to sell a company’s technical products and services. They need a good knowledge and understanding of the portfolio of technologies that are available. They work to maintain good relationships with existing clients, gaining repeat business wherever possible from customers both internal and external, UK or internationally. They also approach potential customers with the aim of winning new business. They maintain a thorough understanding of existing technologies and those that are emerging.
